oUR GENERAL BACKGROUND

Who we are

Above all else, were followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that He is the Son of God, and that He meant what He said to His disciples, "I have come that you may have life, and have life abundant". We live our lives by taking Him at His word.

Where we come from

Our Savior was started by Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton in the 1960's. A group of young people who moved to Muscatine for work asked for help. Before they knew it they were starting to look like a church. Now rooted deeply in the Muscatine region, we love and serve the community of Muscatine, the Pearl of the Mississippi!

Where we're going

We're always growing in faith toward God and love toward our neighbor. This looks like fostering a community that loves, that worships, and that believes in the impossible. We grow as a community by putting one foot in front of the other. We have footprints not only in Muscatine. We are also continuing to leave them around the United States and around the world, especially Kenya and Papua New Guinea.

What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you're always welcome at Our Savior. We're saving a seat for you. Wherever you're at in your faith journey, you'll always be accepted as part of the Our Savior family.
